11/29

Due to the fact that today is the last blog for the semester I thought that I would do something different with the pictures that I am posting and have all the pictures be in black and white to show the beauty in the abstinence of color. I picked these images because they all showed that even in the abstinence of color there is different shads to express the emotion of the image.

11/15

For this week I choose four pictures that all have different perspectives then what would normally be shown. I think that all pictures should be taken in ways that challenge the audiences point of view. In the first two pictures the zoom and the focus points are different but they are the same log and the same trees in the background. In the last two the leaves are in the exact same position and all that has changed is the location of the camera.

With these pictures I wanted to show that even with limited light you can still create a good picture. The top two are some that I found online and thought would be interesting for discussion, even with the second one being pretty grainy. The bottom one is a night picture that I took a few weeks ago. While none of them are perfect they all have qualities that add to the overall composition of the photo. Like in the first one it gives you a different perspective on how to view the sky, with the trees still in the shot. In the second the colors add a great contrast to the darkened out mountain in the front plane. In the last one the light blue on the side adds depth to the photo.

With these pictures I thought that it would be interesting to see if what people thought of the different components of the pictures and if they liked or disliked different aspects.
Personally I only like the last picture and thought that the other three had different aspects that just decreased the value of the overall quality. In the first picture the fisherman just destroyed the view of the mountain in the lake and immediately drew my attention off the main focus. In the second the trees that are in the center looked out  of place and distraction to the mountain that are in the background. They also add a different layer to the photo that disrupts the flow of the picture. in the third photograph the branches that are present in the lower right distract the audience from the main focus.
